“The Most Beautiful Words EP” Naimah Dematra featuring Aqeel & Isai
Mantree Records
The Mantree Camp wastes no time in churning out product on spoken word artist Naimah Dematra. The Most Beautiful Words EP, her second release on Mantree Records, contains her latest offering, “A Thousand Times More”. Enlisting the vocals of Aqeel on the chorus, Dematra continues to share her tales of romantic love. The 999 More Time Mix opens up this EP. Trance inducing, repetitive key stabs and bass line melody is the driving force of this mix. The quirky pianos fill the chorus as Aqeel hauntingly projects the lead hook line. The welcomed horn parts and jazz laden electro clarinet give the track a retro feel that intensifies each second creating an air of excitement that climaxes and releases. The classic, “Mr. Fingers-ish” Smoother Mix will be a favorite among those who have an affinity for deep house. This time, Aqeel leads the production as it builds with the kick, hi-hats and percussion. Puffy bass lines and airy keys, brush against the percussive elements as that jazzy clarinet adds just the right touch. Stripped down to the bare essentials, The Original Mix is equip with grumbling congas, a repeating strum of bass, the standard bottom, and trembling percussions as Naimah, out in front, sounds as if she is cooing right into your ear drum yet never overpowering the track. Those crafty, drama-filled horn parts are amazing giving the track uniqueness. The Most Beautiful Words EP is a potpourri of titillating House music scents. It’s a jazzy lilt for the masses. Also, included in this EP is the Can U Touch Me Like That Remixes: Dede Really Knows & the Mantree Deep Dub Mix featuring the unmistakable voice of Isai… The "Dede Really Knows Mix" pulls no punches; this is electro funk for the modern age. Frantic jazz-inspired pianos, pierce through the production as the key stabs are drafted neatly against the "booty-bumpin'", "hip-shakin'" rubbery bassline. The Deeelite-ish choral chant of Isai reels you in on the hook and Naimah, cooes in your ear her sex-fueled, passionate experience with this somewhat inexperienced male lover. The "Mantree Deep Dub Mix" is just that. Deep, dark, verging on minimalism but dotted with intermittent seering synths that spill forth, slicing and dicing the production. The "thumb & strum" of the elastic bassline is sewn tightly and ride in tandem with the insistent percussion and the mash up of Naimah's & Isai's vocals. Eerie, yet strangely hypnotic. Overall, a catchy & ditty, sure to please those who like their dance music with a little funky, electro twang.
